Meet the team

The Woodward Lewis team has developed an excellent reputation for the quality and reliability of their work. They all have relevant qualifications in their fields of expertise, and share information and learning between them.  Team members below are working on current projects and we have several other excellent coaches and facilitators who also work with us.

Jane Lewis

Trained by “the co-creator of positive deviance (PD)”, Jerry Sternin, and mentored by Richard Pascale, author of “Surfing the Edge of Chaos”, Jane has close links to Monique Sternin and the Positive Deviance Initiative. She created and led the UK’s first organisational PD project, which delivered significant social work time savings for Hertfordshire County Council. She also has led successful community projects with Gosport Borough Council and is working with the Home Office to test the application of PD to difficult community safety problems.

Jane has lectured on PD on the Oxford University-HEC Paris Consulting and Coaching for Change master’s programme and at Oxford Brookes University.

Nick Lewis

Specialises in long-term projects and interim management, primarily in the public sector. Nick has been part of highly successful project teams delivering major programmes in the Ministry of Defence and the Home Office, and has also been a key part of teams setting up new agencies and shared service centres. He has been part of the team setting up the new shared services centre for HM Prison Service at Newport, Gwent, which saved millions of pounds in its first year of operation, and is now part of the management team at the newly-merged Design Council.

Vivienne Hines

Vivienne has a background in leadership coaching and change management consulting and is a teacher, trainer and consultant specialising in organisational behaviour.

She works with teams and individuals in the public and private sector and has a particular interest in communication styles and techniques. Viv is a trained PD facilitator and has an in-depth understanding of positive psychology. She lectures on organisational development and learning at Oxford Brookes University.

Bernadette Ramsay

Bernadette is an experienced training and development specialist, whose particular strengths are in developing personal skills to make delegates more effective in a personal capacity and as part of a team.

With extensive experience of developing staff and managers at all levels, her focus is on strengthening the individual skills and interpersonal relationships that ultimately drive an organisation’s success. This has been achieved through coaching and formal training workshops. Bernadette is trained as a PD facilitator and consistently gets outstanding feedback from her work.

Angela Sims

Angela has been working in the field of organisational change over the last 20 years. An experienced Chief Executive and Company Director, creator, through dynamic cultural change, of award winning organisations. A professional background in management, personnel, marketing and research, is balanced with the ability to think outside of the box and enthuse others to challenge the status quo. Used by charitable organisations as a trouble-shooter trustee to sort out difficult issues and by Chief Executives, Chairmen and Directors as a mentor and performance coach. Has successfully facilitated a range of community coaching and positive deviance exercises across the UK.

Beverley Burrell

Beverley is an experienced facilitator/ trainer with strong empowerment, coaching and mentoring skills. She has diverse management and development experience with a range of public and private sector companies and organisations. A varied background incorporating coaching, training, change management, housing stock transfers & re-organisation, consulting, facilitation and networking combined with excellent conference and event organisation skills. These skills are brought to community coaching and positive deviance exercises including work for the Home Office and local community groups in Hampshire.

Audrey Asamoah

Audrey is an innovative, determined and inspiring project facilitator and leader, who has proved herself on key projects with London Probation and on community coaching projects in Southwark and for the Home Office. She has built on her background of performance management and improvement, delivering practical wins such as Recognised for Excellence (R4E) accreditation, and helping diverse and creative groups to work together to deliveer real results.

Adeola Dada

Adeola brings a strong background in regeneration, community engagement and in project and programme management. She has worked at a senior level, leading on partnership development, programme delivery and cross-thematic projects in regeneration within complex political and stakeholder environments. She is also skilled in  empowering teams and community groups.  She is experienced in bringing people together, building and maintaining strong relationships and helping stakeholders understand and address difficult issues. Adeola is facilitating positive deviance community coaching projects in rural and urban areas of SE England.

Bernie Hoare

Bernie has developed award-winning organisational development activities during a long and successful career with Marks and Spencer.   As a consultant, she has experience of both field and consultancy roles, covering the public and private sectors.  An accomplished practitioner, with an excellent record of achievement, Bernie now uses the FIRO framework extensively for coaching and personal development.   Adaptable and organised with strong interpersonal and project management skills, Bernie is accustomed to working in both a fast paced commercial environment and with the complexities of the public sector.

Jez Edwards

Jez was one of the mums who took part in an early PD project in Gosport.  She was inspired to create a new way of approaching positive deviance projects that suited the UK environment.

She developed and led a quick and structured project on early years’ attainment, which retained all participants and which has been recognised as one of the Children’s Centre’s ir most successful projects.  She used the knowledge and skills she had gained in working with autistic boys and teenagers with challenging behaviour and as a team coach in a customer services environment.  Jez is now working with Woodward Lewis to run other programmes and train local facilitators.
